Found out the Nuvo CLARINEO~~Nice~~

The product was considered to be excellent value, especially compared to conventional clarinets and this made it more accessible to children.

There are five main differences about Clarineo compared with the Clarinet:

1) The Clarineo is smaller and much lighter. Young people - in fact, all beginners - are not put off by the strain of carrying the weight of the instrument, which is taken entirely on the right-hand thumb. Small fingers can now cover the tone holes and reach the little-finger (pinky) keys more easily.

2) It is virtually child-proof and can sustain treatment that would destroy conventional clarinets. The body and key work are made of resilient materials (ABS and Delrin) that lasts indefinitely and survive extremes of temperature. The pads, being made of silicone rubber, are rot-proof and waterproof.

3) The body is moulded in two transverse halves, which are then ultrasonically welded. Undercut tone holes can therefore be incorporated into the design - a first for an injection moulded woodwind instrument. The ability to undercut the tone holes allows the acoustic designer to tune each note more precisely.

4) If any of the key work is damaged it can be removed from the body and replaced by a fresh key. Repair can be carried at a small fraction of the cost of a similar repair to the clarinet.

5) The Clarineo is pitched in C, as I mentioned, making it compatible with Primary school instruments and, really, making it an 'all-purpose' musical instrument rather than one, like the clarinet, with its own specific role.

Here is the specification of Nuvo Clarineo

1)  Light – six or seven-year-olds can play it with no strain, especially not on the thumb.

2)  Is short – “pinky” keys are easily within reach for smaller hands.

3)  Has small tone holes – easily covered by smaller fingers, even the small and slender fingers of young girls.

4)  Looks “cool”, lets him have a choice of great colours, comes in a trendy case and – because it’s virtually        unbreakable – he doesn’t have to be precious with it.

5)  Has a quality mouthpiece – for ease of blowing and ease of getting a nice sound from the start.  It’s also smaller – making it easier for young mouths to handle the reed’s vibrations, so vital in making any reed instrument work and controlling how it sounds.

6)  Has a snap-shut ligature – easier for youngsters to place and secure the reed correctly.

7)  Includes a Nuvo plastic reed – easier to blow, doesn’t need wetting, is more resistant to damage, and lets him start playing immediately – plus it lasts ten times longer.

8)  Has only three parts to put together: mouthpiece, body and bell – easier and faster to assemble.

9)  Produces a great tone – soon has youngsters sounding good.

10)  Lets him play along with friends using the same music they do – whether they play guitar, keyboard, flute, piano, violin, recorder, in fact any instrument in normal pitch.

Price is around RM1,300.

Eh Hem, Time for some Peeeeedals :D

Okaay ladies and gentlemens, boys and girls. This time, I will be giving a review on a Effect Pedal which will give you guys a WOOW for the price and also a WEEE for the sound it can shape.  Here it is!

Finding it hard to get the perfect sound from your guitar?Do you have major feedback issues with your acoustic? The problem’s not your guitar—you need an equalizer! The GRAPHIC EQUALIZER EQ700 provides total control over your tone and puts the brakes on annoying feedback, no matter what the performance situation. You can instantly improve the sound of your guitar with a little help from the BEHRINGER EQ700.

Most performers don’t have a clue about what good equalization can do for their sound. People provide a good example of this principal—although we are all similar, we don’t all wear the same size shoes, or even have the same color eyes. There is no one “perfect” equalization curve that fits every scenario; equalization is dynamic! Am I right? Yes I am! (I'm such a retard, Ha-ha). Okay, stop those nonsense and back to the point.

Most acoustic and electric guitar energy lies between 100 Hz and 6.4 kHz. Even slight changes in this range can cause a tremendous variation in overall energy and impact, as the human ear is especially sensitive to this range. Boosting frequencies around 200 Hz - 400 Hz often provides warmth and body, while boosting frequencies in the 3.2 kHz - 6.4 kHz range adds clarity to clean guitar signals. Depending on the amount of distortion, this same range can ruin the sound of an overdriven electric guitar by adding harsh harmonics.
One of the most common mistakes is adding too much bass to acoustic guitars.

If the low frequencies are boosted excessively, acoustics can easily get lost in the overall mix. Most acoustic guitars are also prone to feedback in the 200 Hz - 400 Hz range.A general rule of thumb—the best results are often achieved by finding and reducing the frequency bands that are offending, and then turning up the overall volume, rather than boosting one specific band.

And here is the specific frequency bands of EQ700 that shape the sound of your Axe:

  • 100 Hz (low bass)
Boost: To add fullness to guitars, especially clean electrics
Cut: To reduce muddy or boomy tone and control acoustic guitar feedback

  • 200 Hz (soft bass)
Boost: To increase the warmth of all guitars and provide a slightly harder sound
Cut: To increase clarity and reduce feedback in acoustic guitars

  • 400 Hz (hard bass)
Boost: To add definition to rhythm parts
Cut: To reduce feedback in acoustic guitars (This is a major feedback zone for piezo-equipped flattops)

  • 800 Hz
Boost: To add an aggressive edge to the overall sound
Cut: For reducing the nasal or horn-like content, often referred to as the “cheap guitar” syndrome

  • 1.6 kHz
Boost: To make the guitar cut through the mix. Creates a more distinctive plucked tone
Cut: To eliminate dullness and competition with vocals (vocal fundamentals occupy the range from about 1.0 kHz - 2.5 kHz)

  • 3.2 kHz
Boost: To add significant attack to all guitars. Creates an even more distinctive plucked tone
    Cut: To eliminate harshness

  • 6.4 kHz
Boost: To add edge and increase brightness to all guitars
Cut: To soften thin-sounding guitars and remove string squeak

Oh yeah *winks. And there is also one for the Bass Guitar :

For the BEQ700, the width band frequencies are slightly different. Its wide frequency range are from 50 Hz to 10 kHz with a powerful 15 dB boost/cut per band. For me, a Equalizer pedal is very important. So, if you are looking for a BOSS Equalizer pedal, but its way out of your budget, go for this, as Behringer product has been designed to compete head to head with leading products on the market.  If you were to compare BOSS's pedals and Behringer's, of course there are difference. The main difference between these 2 are, BOSS pedals are built like a tank! Its, metal casing where as Behringer uses plastic casings. But hey, you are not gona jump and stomp on the pedal right? haha. This is really an affordable pedal for guitarist out there. This pedal is retailed around RM120, same goes the BEQ700 (for bass). As for the BOSS EQ's, its retailed around RM360. See the difference now? Of course i would recommend to get a BOSS which has sturdier casing. But for low budget users, you can really consider about getting some Behringer's in your Rig. Any how, this is just a review of it, go try it to believe it! And thats for today. Have a nice day folks! THE WEATHER IS KILLING ME! Buh BYE!  :D

WoooHoooo....The NEW Electronic Teaching Trumpet only in Japan now.

The New brand only in Japan now.
The EZ-TP Electronic Teaching Trumpet from Yamaha. Budding musicians who want to pick up the trumpet might want to try out the Yamaha EZ-TP Electronic Teaching Trumpet first. This is the digital way to learn the trumpet.

The trumpet can play 22 different sounds, and the best part it includes a a volume control. Unfortunately, this will be available only in Japan at this point in time. It is also built-in 21 songs and allows you to share and save your MIDI-produced tunes to a computer for review later on.

Don't worry about getting saliva all over this digital trumpet - as you should know by now, liquids and electronics tend not to go down so well with each other traditionally. All you need to do is hum and the EZ-TP trumpet will get to work straight away, helping you learn the proper fingering as well.

In addition, you can download songs and load them onto the EZ-TP to help speed up your learning of unfamiliar tunes. Still, this is no substitute for blowing on an actual trumpet since you will still need to get your mouthwork and lung power up, and there is no substitute for that other than regular practice.

Yamaha EZ-TP features:
• 3 Modes: freestyle w/ valves, freestyle w/o valves, lighted teaching
• 22 Sounds
• 21 built-in songs for training
• Flash memory

Every bass guitar player has their own style of playing and their own taste of tones. So they look for a bass guitar which is able to produce the “best” sound for themselves. Often, one bass guitar is not able produce all the type of sounds that he/she wants, which is why they have more than one bass guitars. Oooh Yeaa (winks).
These are few comments on the super quality of the Beast :

1. Neck-through construction – Gives the bass guitar a longer sustain. It also lets bassist to easily reach out to higher frets. FEEL a thru-neck constructed guitar if you haven felt it! By the way, you simply cannot find a bass guitar with a neck-through construction at this range of price because neck through bass guitars need bigger pieces of wood.

2. Bartolini MK-1 Electronics (Active/Passive) – It comes with a Master Volume Knob, Pickup Blend Knob and have 3 Active EQ controls(bass, middle, treble), allowing you to experiment with the tones until you find the right one! Did you notice that there is a mini toggle switch sitting right between the knobs? Wondering what is it? It's active/passive switch! Uh huh! allowing you to switch off from active mode to passive. The reason for the toggle switch is, bassist gets to choose on which mode they want to play with, as passive pickups gives a much warmer and muddy tone and also saves the battery. BUT! you cant play around with the EQ's. For alot of bassist out there, this feature is very useful to them. Why? Imagine this, if you are on stage, playing with ur Active Bass, suddenly, PooF! the bass just isn't working, and you will think, Okay.. It's the battery, let me change it. And you find out that you don't have extra battery! Gosh.. this will be embarrasing, but NO WORRIES if you're using this Mama Beast! Flick the toggle switch to passive mode! TA-DA, there you go! and the crowd continues to cheer. (Wooo hooo)

3. Upgraded Hipshot Bridge & Machine Heads - This beast is built with Hipshot products. Well, the hipshot transtone bridge gives bassist two options, whether they want to set the strings with string thru body or like the normal string on the bridge. Strings that are set thru body gives the bass a better sustain.

So, for players that need a premium and affordable bass, The A4 is a clear choice. This bass is retailed around Rm2200. Great price for a great bass!
